Evea, a French company headquartered in Nantes (over 2 million euros in turnover business, 23 people), has developed a computer tool named Winted, intended for the use of packaging companies operating in the cosmetic market, with the aim to help them to implement eco-design practices and facilitate the development of more environmentally friendly solutions. This tool is made available for free for the cosmetics industry by the group Chanel, the initial sponsor of the product.

The Winted software is designed for all the company staff involved in the development of new packaging with several levels of use possible. It addresses eco-design issues throughout the development process.

Winted offers both a technical approach of design and an overview of the results obtained from innovations and packaging optimization. It is useful for a better understanding of where the product’s environmental impact comes from and proposes improvement options and checklists to go further.
