Biotechnology at the service of beauty

Celtosome™ Eryngium Maritimum (Eryngium Maritimum Callus Culture Filtrate) is a biotechnological active ingredient acting as a wrinkle filler. This active ingredient is derived from the plant cell culture of the protected plant Eryngium maritimum. This halophyte plant, emblematic of the French coastline, is renowned for its ability to withstand extreme conditions (drought, salinity, sun exposure) and is rich in high-performance molecules such as flavonoids, amino acids and sugars.

Celtosome™ technology enables a large quantity of highly active plant cells to be produced from a single seed, ensuring a controlled and sustainable supply, with limited impact on biodiversity and no risk of plant extinction. This laboratory-based process also guarantees the absence of pesticides and annual availability.

Visible and confirmed clinical results

New in vivo clinical evaluations provide concrete evidence of the efficacy of this innovative biotechnological active ingredient. A 28-day double-blind study, conducted on 62 volunteers with crow’s feet wrinkles, demonstrated that a cream containing 0.05% of this active, applied twice daily, resulted in statistically significant reductions vs placebo in wrinkle area (-12%), length (-11%), and volume (-12%).

Self-evaluations by the volunteers after 28 days also showed a noticeable improvement in skin smoothness (visually felt by 65% of volunteers and by touch by 71%), skin evenness (65% of volunteers), and a decrease in tired-looking skin (71% of volunteers), all compared to the placebo group. Furthermore, 74% of volunteers felt they "looked better". This active also improves immediate skin hydration compared to placebo.

A comprehensive mechanism of action for rejuvenated skin

Celtosome™ Eryngium Maritimum acts as a biotechnological "filler" by stimulating the synthesis of essential components for skin structure and hydration.

In vitro and ex vivo studies have demonstrated significant efficacy. The ingredient stimulates the synthesis of:
Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs): +23% on fibroblast cultures. GAGs are crucial for maintaining proper skin architecture and hydration due to their water-binding properties.
Proteoglycans: +29% on fibroblast cultures. These major components of the Extracellular Matrix act as a "filler" substance between cells.
Hyaluronic Acid: +103% versus placebo on skin explants. Hyaluronic Acid has the capacity to bind 1000 times its weight in water, filling intercellular spaces and plumping the skin from within. This intense stimulation of the hyaluronic acid naturally present in the skin makes it a "soft" alternative to hyaluronic acid injections for wrinkle filling.

Furthermore, it reinforces the dermis by increasing the synthesis of:
Collagen I: +28% versus placebo on skin explants. Collagen Type I is the most abundant collagen in the human body (around 90%) and is essential for skin structure.
Elastin: +34% versus placebo on skin explants. Elastin is a structural protein in the dermis secreted by fibroblasts, which provides elastic properties to the skin.

A sustainable commitment

Sourced from a protected plant, Celtosome™ Eryngium Maritimum production via plant cell culture guarantees a controlled and renewable resource, minimizing environmental impact by avoiding wild harvesting and soil degradation. It is also COSMOS Approved, NATRUE Approved, Halal certified, and vegan suitable. This ingredient is also compliant with Chinese regulations (CHINA IECIC & IECSC).
