TechnicoFlor takes a new step in its growth strategy with the acquisition of Azur Fragrances, an independent fragrance house founded in Grasse, Southern France, in 1978 by Andreas Von Loringhoven.
Through this merger, the Allauch-based perfumer (near Marseille, France) aims to accelerate its international expansion by leveraging Azur Fragrances’ established presence across several European markets, particularly Germany.
The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. The deal also opens new opportunities in fast-growing segments such as hair care and natural perfumery, where Azur Fragrances has developed expertise that complements TechnicoFlor’s own capabilities.
According to TechnicoFlor, this merger also reflects a desire to join forces with a company that shares the same quality standards, as well as common values and commitments to creative and responsible perfumery.
Founded in 1981 by François-Patrick Sabater and led since January 2025 by Christopher Sabater, TechnicoFlor supplies a wide range of fragrance and cosmetic brands in more than 70 countries. Among its recent creations are the Essences Précieuses collection for Stendhal Paris (Bogart Group), as well as Dorian’s Spleen for L’Entropiste, which was awarded the Best Niche Perfume Prize by the Fragrance Foundation France in the “Rising Star Independent Brands” category.
TechnicoFlor is also recognized for its eco-rating tool for fragrance formulas. The latest version, FlorIndex 2.0, launched this spring, integrates eight additional indicators and is based on significantly enhanced databases.
By establishing a presence in the Grasse region, TechnicoFlor also gains access to a rich ecosystem of expertise and know-how, in a territory that continues to attract global players in the fragrance industry. Grasse hosted the 2026 edition of the International Exhibition of Raw Materials for Perfumery (SIMPPAR) and is set to welcome, in May 2027 in partnership with the Messe Frankfurt Group, the Beautyworld Summit — two days of exchanges and discussions dedicated to industry stakeholders.
In 2025, TechnicoFlor reported revenues of EUR 51 million (USD 58,4 million), with 60% generated from international markets. The company employs nearly 230 people, including 14 perfumers.
“We are very pleased to welcome the Azur Fragrances teams into the TechnicoFlor family. This acquisition allows us to strengthen our leadership in key segments such as natural perfumery and cosmetics, while also gaining access to complementary expertise. It marks a new stage in our development, reinforcing our presence in Europe and supporting our ambition to accelerate international growth,” said Christopher Sabater, CEO of TechnicoFlor.
