VariBlend, the world leader in the manufacture of custom-blending, dual-dispensing technology, and Cosmax the global giant in original design manufacturing (ODM) for the cosmetics industry, are joining forces.

The alliance will allow the two companies to provide their customers with full services capabilities combining packaging, formulation and filling. In addition to U.S.- based high-speed filling - which will complement VariBlend’s European capabilities - Cosmax will also provide the bulk, and serve as a contract filler. The first products created by the partnership are expected by late May 2016.

This is a true partnership initially focused upon our Made-in-America MiniMix 20mm dispenser, which represents an innovative new option for makers of lip glosses, concealers and other on-the-go personal care products based upon fixed or variable delivery ratio of two different formulas,” said VariBlend’s President and CEO, Robert Brands.

Cosmax’s state-of-the-art, Solon, Ohio site will be the focal point of the new partnership. It is a 330,000-square foot (30,658 sqm) former L’Oréal factory equipped to produce a wide range of cosmetic products in high volume with over 150 million units of annual capacity.

Cosmax’s state-of-the-art, Solon, Ohio site will be the focal point of the new partnership.

We are the leading makeup producer in Korea and China, and we are determined to become the largest contract cosmetics manufacturer in the world by 2017, through advances in the U.S. - the largest cosmetics market - and Latin America, the fastest-growing makeup market,” said Cosmax USA’s chief executive, Sok-Min Yu. “Our strategic partnership with VariBlend is another step in that direction.
