Since pioneering refillable solutions in 1992 with the Mugler perfume fountains, French company Techniplast has continued to innovate in the refilling process. With France’s Law on the Fight Against Waste and for a Circular Economy (AGEC Law) targeting 10% reused packaging by 2027, brands and retailers are working to streamline operations and scale up deployment.

Designed for in-store refills

Techniplast’s Refill Station 2.0 is a compact, autonomous solution that fits seamlessly into retail spaces. Multiple fragrances can be refilled at the same station without rinsing or extra handling, saving significant space and time within stores.

Its intuitive digital interface requires no special training for sales assistants — just a single click is enough to fill a bottle. This makes the service easy to implement and ensures a faster, smoother experience for both staff and customers, with a 50 ml bottle refilled in just one minute.

Safe, clean, and accurate filling

Compatible with all bottle types — whether fitted with crimped or screw-on pumps — the station delivers automatic refills without any fragrance loss thanks to its fully sealed design. Using integrated data, it automatically adapts to the bottle’s size and volume for precise dosing. The only requirement is that the bottle be empty.

Full traceability of the perfumes is guaranteed through QR code scanning of batch numbers on the 500 ml glass refill bottles.

Connected technology and customizable design

Equipped with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, the station can display fragrance information for consumers and send statistical data on the refill service. Both the station’s design and touchscreen are fully customizable to meet the requirements of each brand or distributor.

Entirely designed and manufactured in France, the Refill Station 2.0 is a patented innovation supported by a maintenance service and a multilingual hotline available worldwide. According to Techniplast, several leading perfume brands have already adopted the solution, with market launches expected soon.

The major trends and latest innovations in fragrance development will be presented and discussed at the upcoming Fragrance Innovation Summit on November 26 in Paris.
