The winners of the two Luxe Pack in green 2025 awards were announced on Tuesday, September 30, during the second day of the Luxe Pack Monaco trade show.

For nearly 20 years, the Luxe Pack in green awards have been presented in two categories: one recognizing the most daring innovations in eco-design, and the other honoring the most responsible initiatives from exhibitors at Luxe Pack.

Faced with a record number of applications this year, the jury [1] praised “the quality and creativity of the proposals.”

The Belgian company Ma Balise was recognized in the “Eco-Designed Packaging Innovation” category for its fully biodegradable NFC and RFID labels.

The Ephém labels are designed to integrate seamlessly into premium packaging, offering a contactless experience while minimizing environmental impact. Made from FSC-certified paper and printed with conductive inks, they contain no plastic or heavy metals. As a result, they are fully recyclable within paper and cardboard streams and certified for home compostability.

After conclusive tests in the organic cosmetics sector, Ma Balise promises industrial-scale production and compatibility with existing labeling lines. The labels support all standard contactless applications, such as traceability, anti-counterfeiting, and storytelling.

In the “CSR Strategies” category, packaging giant Amcor was recognized for its strong commitment to environmental responsibility, particularly for its CleanStream mechanical recycling technology for polypropylene (PP).

Amcor’s CleanStream plant has the capacity to recycle almost 40% of all PP waste collected in the UK. According to the company, the use of artificial intelligence in the sorting process enables the achievement of high levels of polymer purity.
