UK-based YOM Beauty has introduced a new benchmark in lip care with the launch of what it describes as the world’s first LipSafe lip mask, a product developed with food-grade ingredients only. Built around the idea that lip care should be safe enough to accidentally swallow, YOM Beauty is challenging conventional expectations in the beauty industry by combining ingredient transparency with thoughtful environmentally-friendly product design.
At the heart of this innovation is “The Pebble”, YOM Beauty’s signature packaging concept — a design created to reflect the brand’s commitment to safety, sustainability, and sensory experience. The packaging combines food-grade glass with bio-based materials to deliver a premium yet responsible alternative for beauty packaging.
The spatula and the pearlescent lid of The Pebble are manufactured using Sulapac Solid, a 100% biobased material designed as a sustainable alternative to conventional plastics, supporting both environmental goals and luxury aesthetics.
“Sulapac Solid won us over twice: first for its sustainability, then for the soft feel and pearly shimmer it gives to the lid of our Pebble,” says Laura DiGirolamo, Co-Founder of YOM.
The Sulapac components for YOM Beauty’s Pebble packaging are manufactured in France by FaiveleyTech, a Sulapac long-standing manufacturing partner specializing in high-quality injection moulding.
YOM Beauty’s LipSafe lip mask represents a broader shift in the beauty sector toward safer formulations and more responsible packaging solutions. As brands increasingly seek alternatives to fossil-based plastics, YOM Beauty highlights the potential of bio-based materials to meet the demanding requirements of premium cosmetic packaging.
