Seppic is expanding its Sepilife range with Sepilife NEOS, a patented liquid polymer incorporating naturally derived squalane. The cosmetic ingredients specialist aims to meet growing demand for formulations that combine Clean Beauty principles, technical performance, and a premium sensory experience.

According to a 2025 Mintel study cited by Seppic, squalane features in 11% of skincare product launches, with its prevalence increasing by an average of 9% annually over the past six years. Valued for its skin compatibility, the ingredient is now at the heart of Seppic’s flagship polymer technology, bringing a new sensory dimension to cosmetic formulations.

A fresh, melting texture

With 65% naturally derived content [1], no microplastics [2], and no ethoxylated derivatives, Sepilife NEOS is suitable for cold-process formulations. Seppic also highlights its excellent skin tolerance, assessed in a clinical trial involving 100 volunteers.

Sensory-wise, the polymer delivers a distinctive quick-break effect. Upon application, its melting texture provides an intense burst of freshness before blending seamlessly into the skin. It leaves a soft, non-sticky finish, with no pilling.

Stabilizes up to 35% of the oil phase

Beyond its sensory benefits, Sepilife NEOS delivers both thickening and stabilizing performance. According to Seppic, it holds up to 35% oil phase without requiring an emulsifier or a neutralization step.

Its compatibility with a broad range of ingredients and formulation conditions — including acidic pH levels, solvents, preservatives, AHAs, and oils of varying polarities — gives formulators greater flexibility to fine-tune viscosity and create a wide variety of textures, from lightweight sprays to rich emulsions. Its sprayability further expands the possibilities for formulation development and innovative textures.

"With Sepilife NEOS, we are bringing a new dimension to our hybrid polymer portfolio. We empower formulators with a sensorial squalane-infused solution capable of raising the challenges of clean beauty concept without compromising on premium textures,” emphasized Anna Dessaint, Product Manager at Seppic.
