At Paris Packaging Week, the German manufacturer showcased a new gift box concept that combines the advantages of its Slide & Click magnetic-free closure and a collapsible construction. Named Kappa and designed as a true luxury box, it brings together refined ergonomics, ease of handling, and durability.
Manufactured exclusively from FSC-certified paperboard and paper, Kappa delivers a distinctive sensory experience thanks to its patent pending, durable-, and magnet-free mechanism. The closure, punctuated by a subtle and refined click, introduces a gesture that echoes precision, elegance, and pleasure of use, while meeting brands’ requirements for product retention, locking security, and eco-responsibility.
With its deliberately classic shape, Kappa stands out through a customizable flat structure that quickly transforms into a box. Tailored to different needs, the design can be secured with a dedicated adhesive tape or kept foldable for convenient reuse.
Delivered and stored flat, Kappa enables efficient flow management while offering great versatility of use. Custom-developed cardboard inserts can be integrated to precisely secure one or several product references, regardless of their formats.
“Kappa is the result of the market observations and a close collaboration between Rissmann’s Design & Innovation teams and its production teams, with the ambition of meeting the challenge of an ultra-premium box that complies with the highest standards of security, sustainability, perceived quality, and functional performance,” explains Rissmann’s Innovation Director, Marianne Wenzel.
After a preview at Luxe Pack Monaco, Rissmann also unveiled in Paris a new version of its iconic shopping bag. It retains the signature finishes of the Skyline Edition - four-colour offset printing, combinations of matt, metallic and pearlescent effects, as well as embossing and debossing effects - and is enriched with innovative and outstanding finishing processes: gold hot foil stamping with a 3D optilevel effect that looks embossed while remaining perfectly flat, shiny and matt contrasts created by nano-embossing using only one single tool.
