Despite some setbacks in the management of its retail network, France’s Bogart Group continues to focus on the vertical integration of its activities.
The Konckier family, reference shareholder of the group, said on Friday, April 24, that it has agreed to acquire 100% of Stadtparfümerie Pieper, a well-established player in Germany’s selective fragrance retail sector.
Founded in 1931, Stadtparfümerie Pieper is a well-established family-owned business, operating a network of 110 stores and a member of the Beauty Alliance group.
This transaction is being carried out as part of a self-administered restructuring proceeding. Its completion remains subject to customary closing conditions and the approval of the relevant authorities.
“The signing of this agreement marks a significant milestone. Pieper is a well-established company with deep market roots and a strong operational foundation. We are confident that our sector expertise, long-term commitment, and in-depth knowledge of the German retail market will help stabilize the business and support its continued growth. Our ambition is to secure the company’s future in a responsible and sustainable way, for the benefit of its employees, customers, and partners,” said Jonathan Konckier, CEO of Groupe Bogart.
Subject to the successful completion of the transaction, the Parfümerie Pieper network could quickly become a strategic partner for the Bogart Group’s Fragrances & Cosmetics division (including Aholic, Carven, Jacques Bogart Paris, Méthode Jeanne Piaubert, Rose & Marius, Stendhal and Ted Lapidus).
The French group ended 2025 with revenue of EUR 263.9 million, declining 7.5% at constant scope and exchange rates and 8.7% on a reported basis.
Since 2004, Groupe Bogart has acquired several selective perfumery and drugstore chains across Europe and the Near and Middle East, building a unique network of nearly 450 stores across seven countries. These operate under banners including April (Belgium, France, Israel, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates), DI Drugstores (Belgium), HC Parfümerie, Aurel, Gottman and Gabriel (Germany), and Fann (Slovakia).
Four years ago, Groupe Bogart set out its ambition to build Europe’s fourth-largest network of selective perfumeries — a strategy that continues to unfold.
