Sari Sternschein - The vast inventory offering includes disposable applicators, professional brushes, specialty swabs, makeup sponges, spa wear, jars, bottles and much more. In addition to having a large product line from which to choose, Qosmedix also has a knowledgeable product development team readily available to assist customers in creating their own private label collections. Qosmedix operates a 50,000 square foot climate-controlled warehouse in Edgewood, New York.

Since its inception, the company has continued to grow annually, being named five times to the Inc. 500/5000 list of fastest growing private companies in the United States.

Premium Beauty News - You have built your reputation on an original concept: disposable accessories, instruments and packaging for the beauty industry.

Sari Sternschein - In 1987, Stuart Herskovitz, founder of Qosina Corporation, an international medical components supplier, was walking by the cosmetic counters in a major department store when he noticed consumers trying on lipsticks and placing the tubes back into the display units. It was then that he realized there was a need for disposables that would help reduce the risks of cross-contamination. He thought, “If doctors and hospitals use medical disposables to reduce these risks, why not apply the same principle to the beauty industry?”

Thus Qosmedix was born, and has since expanded to provide a wide array of high quality products that offer both convenience and value to its customers. In 2009, Qosmedix added a line of professional makeup brushes (PRO Brushes) to satisfy the need for high caliber makeup brushes that are competitively priced and fully customizable.

Premium Beauty News - What are your main markets?

Sari Sternschein - Currently, Qosmedix actively markets its products in the United States and Canada, but we sell to customers all over the world. There is a plan in the near future to open a distribution center in Europe in order to better reach the customer base in that area. Once this is established, the company plans to market more aggressively in that part of the world.

Sari Sternschein - The new B2B E-Commerce website has been an exciting advancement for the company. Through much planning and development, the launch was a complete success. Sari Sternschein - MakeUp in New York is the only show of its kind in the U.S. to focus specifically on makeup and bring cosmetic buyers and manufacturers together to meet and network all in one convenient location. It is the perfect venue for Qosmedix to highlight this category of products in such an intimate setting.

Sari Sternschein - Qosmedix is always adding new products to the line. Some recent developments include a brow stencil kit, twist/lock sifter jars, false eyelashes, oblong blending sponges and makeup artist mixing palettes.
