MakeUp in New York: A grand cru ... as of its first edition!

The first edition of Make Up in New York who just took place for two days last week in the heart of Manhattan just a few steps away from Penn Station can already be considered a Premier Grand Cru!

All the necessary ingredients were there!” say the organizers. “A magical place with a breathtaking view on the Hudson River, perfect weather, the finest in America’s and Europe’s make-up industry from formulation, packaging to full-service specialists, a large number of participants with a high quality level, all of them coming and it was a surprise, from both New York and the West Coast of the United States.

An excellent show...”, “the best we have attended in a long time...”, “high quality decision makers...”, “the very best in the make-up industry decided to meet here...” comments were already flying as of the end of the first day of the event.

650 visitors

With a total of 650 participants as of its first edition, Make Up in New York already appears to be the future meeting spot for American make-up professionals.

During two days, dozens of managers of American brands coming from managing, marketing or purchasing teams have followed one another in the aisles of Studio 450. “A true festival of highly competent professionals, with many of them coming from the West Coast and even several from South America”, agreed many exhibitors who had seldom seen during a professional event so many people of such high level.

An event punctuated by a number of make-up animations particularly appreciated by visitors and which were set up by the teams of Eve Pearl, who is a 5-time Emmy Award winning celebrity Makeup Professional with over 18 years’ experience in television, film, theatre and print.

Make Up Designory who teaches the art of make-up and hairstyling for a career in the beauty, media, Entertainment and retail industries, was also working on the show, as the team of Make Up For Ever launched in the U.S. in 1995 with the opening of a NYC Studio and which has grown tremendously over the past 16 years.

To note also the presence of the association of the Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) Inc.. which is a non-profit professional organization that advances the professional growth and leadership potential of its members in the cosmetic industry

"This first edition was rich in lessons explained, Sandra Maguarian and Jean-Yves Bourgeois, members of the organising team, and we are already working on the second one. Especially since all exhibitors that we warmly thank again for their first participation, told us they were eager to attend next year’s edition. A second edition, which will of course be full of novelties and surprises. More details to come in a few days.
