Puig has agreed to acquire Corporación Químico-Farmacéutica Esteve’s 50% stake in Spanish dermatology and skincare company ISDIN, ending a 50-year joint ownership and giving the beauty group full control of the dermocosmetics specialist.
The acquisition underscores Puig’s ambition to expand its skincare business, with dermocosmetics identified as a strategic growth priority.
"Full ownership will give Puig the best platform to support its next phase of growth, deepen our presence in dermocosmetics and continue investing behind science, innovation and brand strength," said Puig CEO Jose Manuel Albesa.
Founded through a partnership between the Puig and Esteve families, ISDIN has built an international presence in dermatology and skincare, positioning itself at the intersection of science and beauty.
“Puig will approach this next chapter with a long-term commitment to ISDIN, its people, its scientific culture and its continued development,” highlighed Marc Puig, Executive Chairman of Puig.
The transaction, whose financial terms were not disclosed, reinforces Puig’s broader strategy of increasing its exposure to the skincare segment alongside its fragrance, makeup and fashion businesses. After shelving its merger plans with The Estée Lauder Companies, Puig’s acquisition of ISDIN positions the group to accelerate its expansion in dermocosmetics, a category expected to see sustained strong growth in the coming decades.
