The Brazilian group Natura announced on Monday, August 31, that Alessandro Carlucci will return as CEO, effective October 1. He will succeed João Paulo Ferreira, who will step down on September 30 after ten years at the helm. According to Natura, the leadership change is part of a planned transition designed to accelerate the company’s next phase of growth.

Carlucci, who previously led Natura from 2005 to 2014, had been serving as Chairman of the Board and will oversee the transition throughout September.

As part of this governance reshuffle, Fábio Barbosa has been elected Chairman of the Board, a position he has held previously.

This change follows a period of profound transformation for the group. Under João Paulo Ferreira’s leadership, Natura tripled its revenue, expanded its presence in Spanish-speaking Latin American markets, and consolidated an omnichannel strategy integrating direct sales, physical retail, and online sales. Today, the company has approximately 2.8 million consultants, over 1,200 stores, and a digital business that generated over 1.5 billion reais in revenue in 2025. During this period, the company integrated Avon’s Latin American operations but also divested several acquisitions that had saddled it with significant debt: Aesop (sold to L’Oréal), The Body Shop (sold to the Aurelius fund), and Avon’s international operations (now managed by Regent).

According to Natura, the goal is now to accelerate strategy execution and launch a new cycle of growth.

In the first half of 2026, Natura recorded an 8.5% drop in net revenue (to 9.9 billion reais), with a 10.7% decline in its Brazil operations. In the second quarter, the company saw its net profit plummet by 82% (35 million reais, compared to 196 million reais for the same period in 2025).
