Lucas Meyer Cosmetics cumulated many announcements at the 2012 edition of In-Cosmetics in Barcelona and won the Gold Award for the best innovation thanks to its new active ingredients: Progeline™ and Adipofill™, both of them designed to fight the appearance of ageing.
Progeline™, is a biomimetic peptide allowing, according to the company, to modulate progerin, to result in a complete remodelling effect and reduction of the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin. As far as it is concerned, Adipofill™ is an encapsulated active ingredient that stimulates the synthesis of fat tissue. “The increase of fat content in skin cells results in face lipostructure that corrects wrinkles and fine lines,” explains the company.
The company, which has joined the Unipex group in July 2011, also seized the occasion of In-Cosmetics to unveil its new brand identity. The entire business of the Unipex group regarding active ingredients for the cosmetics industry will now be operated under the brand Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, with a new logo and under the “Join the Spirit” tagline.
Eventually, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics also confirmed the acquisition of the cosmetic ingredients portfolio from innoVactiv inc. that it has been marketing worldwide. With this acquisition, the company now owns the intellectual property rights for active ingredients and can streamline procurement while benefiting from more developmental flexibility. The operation also confirms Lucas Meyer Cosmetics’ expansion and speed up growth strategy.
