Unipex, a leading company in the field of innovative active ingredients for the cosmetics industry, has acquired Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, a French company headquartered in Paris and specializing in natural cosmetic functional ingredients and actives.

This acquisition is expected to double Unipex’s proprietary products sales and provide greater formulation support and resources worldwide.

According to Patrice Barthelmes, CEO of Unipex, this acquisition should strengthen the group’s position in the industry worldwide through a wider offering of products and services whether for active ingredients, delivery systems, or natural functional ingredients. “We also combine both the expertise and scientific knowledge from Unipex, which relate to peptides and biotech actives, and from Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, which relate to functional ingredients and phospholipids, to improve our ideation and innovation processes," he added.

Lucas Meyer Cosmetics employs 20 people and is recognized as the world’s leading reference for phospholipids. Over the years, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics has developed natural functional ingredients that offer formulating chemists a large palette of textures, along with formulation expertise to unlock the full potential of each ingredient.

Jean-Pierre Arnaud and Eric Calmon, former co-owners of Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, will continue to drive the business.
