KDC/One has inked one more purchase deal. Two weeks after the acquisition of Italy’s Zobele, the Canadian group is taking over Cosmetic Laboratories of America (CLA), a company specializing in the development, formulation and supply of personal care and beauty products based in Chatsworth, California. Founded in 1971, CLA has approximately 350 employees. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Through this acquisition KDC/One intends to strengthen its position in the U.S.A. and better address the needs of beauty brands on the West Coast, with a particular focus on skincare and haircare products and color cosmetics.

Following the acquisition of Thibiant in 2016 and the recent integration of Benchmark Laboratories and the merger with HCT Group, KDC/One now operates a hub of cutting-edge production and research facilities in the region. “The close proximity of these facilities creates significant opportunities for collaboration, future investment and increased scale for growth, while also providing CLA customers with access to KDC/One’s worldwide network,” said the group in a statement.
