The New Zealand-born perfumer is making the move from Symrise to International Flavors & Fragrances’ (IFF) Creative Center in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France.

Hailing from the rugged coastline of New Zealand’s North Island, Isaac Sinclair studied perfumery in Grasse, France, before continuing his education at the Università dell’Immagine in Milan, Italy. Along the way, he trained under some of the industry’s most respected figures, including Françoise Marin and Bernard Ellena, before being mentored by Maurice Roucel during his years at Symrise — a relationship that proved pivotal to his development as a perfumer.

A six-month assignment in Brazil turned into a journey that lasted more than a decade. Inspired by the country’s vibrant olfactory culture, Isaac forged enduring creative partnerships and developed numerous successful fragrances for leading Brazilian brands. His signature creations include Kayak Aero, Homem Dom, and Kriska Romance for Natura, as well as Malbec Flame and Quasar Ice for O Boticário, among many others.

Based in France for the past three years, Isaac Sinclair has created fragrances for houses such as agnès b., Abel, and Neandertal Perfumes.

"Every fragrance is a blend of creativity, emotion, and — above all — collaboration. It is the people who bring it to life. That’s what makes joining IFF so exciting: a new chapter, a new palette of ingredients, and endless opportunities to collaborate with such a talented team — to inspire and be inspired," he comments.
