Gallinée, a young skincare brand dedicated to caring for the skin microbiome, has been named “Product of The Year” at the 2nd Annual Penrose Innovation Awards. An elite panel of 21 judges, drawn from pioneers, investors and innovation specialists participated in the judging process to select this year’s winners.
Gallinée’s formula challenges the relationship between us and friendly bacteria, to create much healthier skin. “Gallinée is more than just a world first, it’s a paradigm shift in skin care,” said Douglas Bell, founder of London Innovators.
Launched in 2015 by London Innovators, a private community of 1,000 founders and investors, in partnership with IBM & Crowdcube, the event is now supported by the UK Business Angels Association, Tech City UK and London & Partners. This year 50 pioneering companies across a broad range of industries - from cutting-edge biotech and medical technologies, to artificial intelligence, robotics, big data, IOT, blockchain, and financial services - were nominated for consideration in two award categories, Product of the Year and Innovator of the Year.
“It is an incredible honour to have been chosen from amongst such a worthy group of contenders, and I’d like to congratulate all those who were nominated on their achievements,” said Gallinée Founder, Dr. Marie Drago. “The research into the microbiome and the enormous benefits to the skin from harnessing the effects of good bacteria inspired me to create the Gallinée range. I am encouraged by this recognition, and excited for more people to discover our groundbreaking approach to skincare.”
“The judges were extremely impressed with the standard of competition, and Gallinée should be proud to have won,” said Kerry Ritz, judge and former MD of MassChallenge UK.
