The French luxury conglomerate has announced plans to create a research and innovation centre dedicated to sustainable and digital luxury at the heart of new research and business cluster currently under construction in Saclay, in the South of Paris greater urban area.

This centre, which is due to open in 2024/2025, will eventually bring together 300 employees and researchers. According to LVMH, this ambitious prospect will build on strategic partnerships in research and innovation.

Creating new personalized customer experiences

For instance, LVMH recently announced a partnership with Google Cloud to develop new cloud-based artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. In particular, the group aims to enhance demand forecasting and inventory optimization, as well as elevate customer experiences through personalization - while meeting very strict privacy and security requirements to protect the privacy of its customers’ data.

LVMH will also get Google Cloud’s support in enhancing its culture of innovation, including the creation of dedicated, inclusive upskilling and certification programs for Maisons’ teams. In addition, both companies will explore co-innovation opportunities and launch a Data and AI Academy in Paris to accelerate their expertise and innovation in these fields. As part of the partnership, LVMH will also use Google Cloud to modernize components of its IT infrastructure, fostering the agility, security, cost efficiency and performance at scale required to support its business ambitions.
