For its Invisible Sun Stick SPF50+, the French skincare brand founded on STM30 biotechnology has selected the Stick ReUse packaging solution developed by Cosmogen & Asquan Group.

Built on STM30 biotechnology — an innovative complex developed in Switzerland by Dr. Fred Zülli — French skincare brand Firn combines high concentrations of two active ingredients: one derived from Alpine plant stem cells and the other from glacier microorganisms.

Dedicated to solid cosmetics Stick ReUse is made of polypropylene (PP) with an aluminium finish and is refillable. According to Cosmogen & Asquan Group, the patented, watertight packaging enables to save 56% of plastic with every refill.

Stick ReUse was born of a market study that revealed a gap in the existing offer: the absence of a watertight stick in a premium version. As skincare, make-up and fragrance formulas increasingly come in solid form, it provides a packaging answer to this momentum, reconciling performance in use with eco-design, while also adapting to new on-the-go habits,” says the packaging provider.

Solid and hybrid formulas

Stick ReUse is built around a stick format with a patented mechanism, refilled at the simple press of a push button for a precise, hygienic gesture. Its water-tightness broadens its scope of use: it accommodates solid and hybrid formulas alike, whereas conventional sticks are confined to anhydrous textures. Available in mono-material PP, in recycled PP (r-PP) or with an aluminium housing offered in silver, rose gold and gunmetal finishes, it caters to eco-designed positionings and the demands of premium packaging in equal measure.

Refillable solution

However, Cosmogen & Asquan Group highlights refillability as the heart of the Stick ReUse’s value proposition.

The refill fits inside the outer housing and will not work on its own, which safeguards the integrity and image of the brand while saving 56% of plastic with every reuse. Compatible with solid skincare, hybrid formulas, colour cosmetics and solid fragrance, and fully customisable, Stick ReUse addresses the full range of categories now embracing the stick format.

Cosmogen & Asquan Group was formed through Cosmogen’s acquisition of Asquan last spring. The group is building on the agile, fabless model that has driven both companies’ success to date.
