Metal component manufacturer Federico Ferrer recently changed its name to Thomas Cosmética de España, in the wake of its merger in 2011 with Mar-Explot, a subsidiary of Spain’s Thomas Group. The new company has moved its operations to an upgraded facility in Valencia, Spain.

The new name reflects the company’s evolution since the acquisition by Thomas Group and states its new ambitions in terms of future growth.

There was an opportunity to merge talent, resources and synergies. This way, we have created a stronger, more competitive company. With Thomas Group’s backing, Thomas Cosmética has the financial and operational support to maintain a steady growth curve. The merger brings improvements in production capacity and provides the much-needed room for future expansion,” explains Stefan Benito managing director for sales at Thomas Group.

Thomas Cosmética’s production facilities now cover 13,500m2 across two industrial units. The two sites house state-of-the-art anodisation and deep drawing equipments for the production of bespoke metal components for luxury beauty packaging.

Our focus remains on the premium segment of the beauty market,” says Miguel Sanchez, commercial director at Thomas Cosmética. “Key employees from Federico Ferrer have moved to Valencia and will continue their specialist work. However, this work will now be supported by industrial capabilities and investment, giving them greater freedom and more potential in terms of new product development.

With a staff of 110, Thomas Cosmética counts the world’s leading beauty brands among its customers. The new industrial facilities are now fully operational.
