David Konckier, the main shareholder of the Bogart Group, has finalized the acquisition of the Marionnaud Group through his company BEHN. The transaction, undertaken in a personal capacity, was initially announced in a press release on July 6.

The selective perfumery retailer thus comes under the control of the businessman, following more than 20 years under the ownership of Hong Kong-based conglomerate CK Hutchison, which also owns the AS Watson retail group.

A long-established player in Europe’s selective perfumery market, Marionnaud generates approximately EUR 650 million in annual revenue, employs nearly 4,200 people, and operates 687 stores across eight countries.

David Konckier intends to grow the retailer’s business while preserving its identity and brand. The strategy will rely in particular on developing synergies between the various businesses under his control, notably with the Bogart Group’s selective retail operations.

Through its Bogart Beauty Retail division, the group operates approximately 450 selective perfumeries and drugstores across Europe and the Middle East. These include the April Beauty and DI banners in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Israel; HC Parfümerie and Gottman in Germany; and Fann in Slovakia. The Bogart Group expects the transaction to contribute to significant business growth, particularly by providing a broader retail network for its own brands.

The acquisition comes as the Bogart Group reported first-half 2026 revenue of EUR 114.7 million, down 7.4% at current exchange rates and 5.3% on a like-for-like basis. Revenue from Bogart Beauty Retail declined by 7.1% to EUR 93.1 million, amid subdued consumer spending and an ongoing restructuring of its retail network, including store closures in France, Belgium, and Germany.

By contrast, the group’s perfumes and cosmetics business posted slight growth of 0.4% on a like-for-like basis, reaching EUR 21.6 million. The group is counting on new product launches and an expanded network of distribution partners to support growth. Marionnaud’s acquisition by its main shareholder could provide an additional growth driver by opening up new distribution opportunities for the group’s brands.
