The first edition of Cosmopack International Business Forum & Exhibition was held at the Hilton Midtown Hotel in New York on 16 and 17 September 2015. The two day event was based on B2B meetings designed to offer participants concrete business opportunities and the possibility to enhance their professional network.

A total of 676 meetings involving 83 buyers and distributors, coming from USA, Canada, Europe, China, Korea and United Arab Emirates, and 44 vendors representing the whole beauty supply chain, from raw materials and machinery and technologies, to contract manufacturing trough primary and secondary packaging.

The professionals and the media were also given the opportunity to attend workshops, conferences and round-tables focusing on regulations, trends and communication strategies.

The event was organised by BolognaFiere, in collaboration with Cosmetica Italia, Polo Tecnologico della Cosmesi and with the participation of ICMAD (Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors) and ITA (Italian Trade Agency), with the aim to showcase the excellence of the Made in Italy and put under the spotlights the know-how and the innovation of leading international companies in the beauty sector.

This new Cosmopack initiative is really interesting,” said Franco Giuliani of Pharmacos, one of the companies participating in the event. “The distributors attending are highly professional and this helped us maximizing the results of our meetings. This is also the proof that it is really important to promote the Made in Italy in strategic markets as the North-American one, where the know-how and the high quality of the Italian supply chain are really appreciated”.

Taking part to this Cosmopack event helped us transferring our competence in machinery from the pharmaceutical to the beauty sector” added Valentina Marchesini, from the Marchesini Group. “Cosmopack puts in evidence how trade fairs are evolving. Even companies specialized in machinery can take advantage from new opportunities to promote their activities and products”.

Several US distributors, retail chains and brands participated in the initiative. "What I like most of the Cosmopack New York event is the possibility to hold one-to-one meetings with some of the leading European manufacturers, Italian ones in particular," commented Paul Wahlgren, CEO of Skyler Brand Ventures.

The next edition of the Cosmopack tradeshow will take place in Bologna from 17 to 20 March 2016, on occasion of the 49th edition of Cosmoprof, and the forum is also schedule to come back to New York again next year.
