This year’s event “was undoubtedly one of our best; we had a record number of entries and attendance and to top it all off, the atmosphere in the room was electric. Hearing the winners announced for the first time today was so exciting for me. I always love seeing both small and established brands vying for the CEW Beauty Awards” emphasized Caroline Neville, CEW UK President.

The ‘Best New Brand Mass’ this year was awarded to The Ordinary from DECIEM. Launched in 2016, The Ordinary is the latest brand to join DECIEM’s umbrella of brands under their tagline ‘the abnormal beauty company.’ The Ordinary was created to ‘celebrate integrity in its most humble and true form’ and with price points ranging from just £4.90, the brand has truly taken the industry by storm. There is no doubt

The winner of this year’s eco award (sponsored by Givaudan) was Weleda’s Jardin de Vie Fragrance Collection. An all-natural fragrance collection available in four different scents, the range took three years to develop and offers a revolutionary concept within the industry. Weleda is breaking new ground with their NATRUE-certified organic range that is free from the synthetic ingredients that are so common in conventional perfumes and use only 100% natural and sustainable ingredients - a well-deserved award for a truly revolutionary product within the market.

Record Winners

This year, Aromatherapy Associates broke a new CEW Beauty Awards record, taking home an incredible five awards plus a win for The Refinery, their men’s grooming range and emporium. Established in 1985, Aromatherapy Associates has been sharing the therapeutic benefits of essential oils for more than 30 years.

For the second year running, Charlotte Tilbury also took home multiple awards. The brand received a total of three Awards, including ‘Best New Women’s Fragrance Prestige’ for Scent of a Dream, Charlotte Tilbury’s debut fragrance. Other wins include Legendary Lashes for ‘Best New Makeup Product For Eyes Prestige’ and Hot Lips for ‘Best New Makeup Product For Lips Prestige’.

Victoria’s Secret or the failure of a conservative positioning?

When the Victoria’s Secret show was cancelled it didn’t come as a surprise. In May, it was reported by The New York Times that the show would no longer be broadcast on network television. “We must evolve and change to grow. With that in mind, we have decided to re-think the traditional Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show". From 2001 to 2018, (...)
