The luxury beauty retailer has announced Stacie Borteck Dattner as its upcoming Vice President/General Merchandise Manager, Merchandising. The appointment is effective on October 12.
In this role, Dattner will be responsible for the beauty retailer’s next chapter of brand curation. She will lead Bluemercury’s merchandising strategy, proprietary brands, and vendor marketing, guiding the retailer’s assortment and strengthening its distinctive point of view on luxury beauty. More specifically, Dattner will oversee how Bluemercury identifies, curates and brings to market brands, products and innovations that resonate with its clients. She will report directly to Alexandre Choueiri, Chief Executive Officer of Bluemercury.
Dattner joins Bluemercury following nearly two decades at Bloomingdale’s, where she held a range of senior merchandising and leadership roles, including seven years leading its beauty and fragrance division. Most recently, she served as Senior Principal, Strategic Capital Planning and Brand Integration, partnering closely with senior leadership, merchants and luxury brand partners on capital strategy, major store projects and brand integration initiatives, while contributing to the Bloomingdale’s broader transformation strategy.
At Bloomingdale’s, her work included the elevation of the luxury fragrance assortment including the flagship fragrance hall reinvention, as well as launching a discovery-driven beauty concept created to introduce consumers to emerging brands and new ways to shop beauty. Her experience has spanned developing distinctive retail concepts, curating assortments, and creating experiences that respond to the evolving needs and preferences of modern luxury consumers. She is also an active Executive Board Member of The Father’s Day/Mother’s Day council and a member of Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) since 2005.
"Stacie is an exceptional merchant and leader who brings a deep understanding of luxury retail and the client experience, along with a strong perspective on beauty," said CEO Alexandre Choueiri. "As we define the next chapter of Bluemercury, her expertise will be instrumental in sharpening our point of view on luxury beauty, shaping our assortment and strategy, and creating an even more distinctive experience for our clients. Her breadth of experience will be an important part of delivering on our mission to be the trusted and elevated beauty destination in your neighborhood."
Dattner’s appointment comes as Bluemercury continues to strengthen its luxury positioning and evolve how clients discover and experience beauty across stores and digital channels.
"I have long admired Bluemercury for its distinctive approach to luxury retail and its ability to make beauty feel personal and approachable," said Dattner. "There is tremendous opportunity to build on that foundation with an even more differentiated point of view, bringing together iconic and emerging brands and innovative products in ways that continually meet clients’ needs and give them something new to discover. I’m thrilled to join Alex and the Bluemercury team at such an important moment, and I look forward to building strong partnerships with our brands to create personalized experiences for our clients."
