Beyond Beauty, the new formulation concept presented by BASF at Cosmet’Agora 2026, highlights eco-designed hybrid solutions and unique sensory experiences that address evolving consumer needs.
Integrating efficacy with optimized sensory textures
The concept features formulations for longevity skincare, care-infused haircare and body-wash, eco-conscious UV protection (assessed with BASF’s EcoSun Pass technology), and healthy glow make-up.
“Our new concept illustrates how cosmetic products can help the skin recover from environmental stresses, how beauty rituals can reconnect people with nature, and how textures influence our emotions and the perception of a product’s performance,” said Dr Valérie Pian-Parison, Senior Marketing Manager France at BASF.
New hair care ingredients
The 2026 edition of the Cosmet’Agora show will also provide an opportunity for the group to unveil two new hair care ingredients: Aloversil, a natural origin peptide solution for fuller-looking hair, and Dehyquart S18, a biodegradable conditioning agent for smoother, healthier hair.
Composed of natural peptides, Aloversil is designed to improve the appearance of hair density in men with visible hair loss by helping maintain a healthy scalp environment, a key factor in supporting hair strength and resilience.
In a randomized, double-blinded, and placebo-controlled clinical study involving 60 men, daily application of a leave-in hair serum containing Aloversil for four months improved the look of hair coverage and density. These results were confirmed by instrumental assessments. In vitro studies show that Aloversil supports the body’s own cellular communication and natural micro-vascularization, both of which are associated with nourishing healthy hair follicles and improving the hair’s appearance. Aloversil is made from the seedcake of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides), a byproduct of juice and oil production, and is 100 percent natural origin according to ISO 16128.
For its part, Dehyquart S18 (INCI: Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine) is a cationic conditioning agent intended for use in hair care formulations, especially conditioners, hair masks, and hair treatments. It is readily biodegradable (based on OECD standards) and has a renewable carbon content (RCC) of 78 percent. This makes it an effective, naturally derived alternative to persistent quaternary ammonium compounds (quats) that are traditionally used to achieve conditioning results in hair care products. It is also suitable for formulations with silicone alternatives, as well as for vegan and cruelty-free formulation concepts.
Performance tests have shown that Dehyquart S18 enhances both wet and dry combability by forming a smooth film on the hair surface under acidic pH conditions. It also improves suppleness even at low dosages and provides reliable frizz protection in high humidity.
