In order to address a demand for cosmetic samples that is clearly on the rise, Arcade Beauty’s French site Socoplan has been equipped with a new storage warehouse with an additional capacity of 400 m2.

Located in western France, Socoplan’s site manufactures, prints and packages skin care and make-up samples. Its production lines are dedicated to the group’s own product types. Some of them, such as the ScentSeal®, BeautiSeal®, LiquaTouch®..., or the BeautiPod® labels, are technologies from the United States. Their relocation to Europe allows Arcade Beauty to produce as close as possible to its markets. “Socoplan thus guarantees a fully integrated production: printing and decoration, manufacturing, in-line filling, microbiological and quality control, delivery of finished products,” says the group in a statement.

Optimised supply chain

The inauguration of this new 4000 m2 storage area, which is directly connected to the factory, allows Socoplan to optimise their supply chain thanks to a direct access to the production line. A secure sampling area (overpressure, filtered air, etc.) now enables the integrated laboratory to test customers’ bulks in real time from receipt to the release of batches for delivery of finished products.

This new configuration guarantees optimal safety of the products manufactured and reduces the carbon impact thanks to the elimination of inter-site transport which previously existed,” highlights the company.

50th anniversary

This new investment coincides with the company’s fiftieth anniversary. Created in 1970 by a pharmacist, Socoplan manufactured its first shower gel samples for the hotel industry. At the beginning of the 1980s, the site distinguished itself in various markets. In 1986, after refocusing on the cosmetics sector, Socoplan invented the concept of the press sachet. The site then expanded its activity under the aegis of Bioplan, which merged with Arcade Marketing in 2014 to create the Arcade Beauty group. Its turnover is now around 50 million euros for 250 employees.
