A specialized contract manufacturer for the beauty industry, the group is now organized around three business units: Ancorotti Cosmetics (makeup), Cosmoproject (skincare), and Ancorotti Perfumes. In 2026, it expects to generate around EUR 250 million in revenue with a workforce of nearly 1,000 employees. A long-standing leader in the mascara category — where it is one of the world’s market leaders, producing around 150 million units annually — the company is continuing to broaden its capabilities. "Our ambition is to be present across every beauty category, including through acquisitions where appropriate," says Renato Ancorotti, founder and president of the group.

A brand new factory dedicated to perfume

On the industrial side, the group now operates three production sites in Italy. Its historic facility in Crema, dedicated to makeup, remains the cornerstone of the business, generating over 60% of group revenue and exporting 90% of its production. Skincare manufacturing is based in Parma, where the domestic market accounts for around 60% of output, with exports representing the remaining 40%. The latest addition is a dedicated perfume manufacturing facility in Crema, adjacent to the makeup plant. Representing a EUR 23 million investment, the fully automated site has an annual production capacity of 1,5 million liters and occupies a 5,000 m² campus.

The new division currently serves customers primarily in Italy and the United States. It integrates every stage of perfume production — from alcohol blending, maceration and filtration to filling and final packaging — allowing Ancorotti to provide a fully integrated manufacturing service for both niche brands and high-volume international launches.

Hybrid textures and formats

For perfume creation, Ancorotti Perfumes has entered into strategic partnerships with different fragrance houses. These collaborations enable the Italian manufacturer to offer a fully integrated, turnkey service, including the development of proprietary fragrance compositions. The group also complements its offering with scented candles, produced through a specialized manufacturing partner.

Beyond conventional alcohol-based perfumes, Ancorotti is also showcasing its expertise in hybrid, alcohol-free formats that open up new creative possibilities. Drawing on its longstanding know-how in makeup, the company is developing differentiated concepts centered on innovative textures and application methods. Among the innovations presented at Esxence were hybrid textures that blur the line between fragrance and cosmetics, from sticks to powders, holographic mists, solids, and gels designed to combine high olfactory performance with skincare benefits.

Ambitious goals

While Ancorotti Perfumes currently accounts for a modest share of the group’s total sales, it is growing rapidly. The company targets revenue of EUR 15 million for this division alone by 2026.

"It is still a start-up-style operation," acknowledges Renato Ancorotti; however, he believes that investments in production facilities and a full-service positioning provide strong drivers for the new business’s growth.
