French brand Sisley chose Aptar Beauty’s Irresistible airless packaging for the launch of their new preservative-free face cream for sensitive skin, made from 100% natural-origin key ingredients. This high protection solution was selected for its advanced airless technology, enhanced by a patented barrier system preventing microbiological contamination.
High-tech airless packaging for dermocosmetics
Irresistible is Aptar Beauty’s most protective airless packaging solution. It features a patented barrier technology inside the actuator, designed specifically for formulas with little or no preservatives: the Preservative-free System (PFS). This ultimate barrier is a combination of a sterilizing micro filter and an orifice-sealing technology on the actuator (Tip Seal system), avoiding microbiological contamination.
With a metal-free path pump and bag-in-bottle airtight packaging, Irresistible offers optimized formula compatibility. In addition to the airless system, the multilayer inside pouch adds to the barrier properties against air and other contaminants.
Moreover, the Irresistible airless pump has passed CVIT [1] and TSIT [2] microbiological protocols, which guarantee no contamination before and after PAO (period after opening).
UHT technology
To make sure preservatives are safely and effectively removed from Sisley’s Sensitive Skin Soothing Care expert formula, Aptar Beauty teamed up with P&B Group to use Ultra-High Temperature technology. The UHT technology is an innovative and patented process of sterilization through rapid heating, followed by immediate cooling. The exposure time and temperature are controlled and adapted to the formula type and viscosity to preserve the quality and properties of the galenic.
A dedicated under-vacuum filling line was developed in a sterile environment, to avoid any contamination of the UHT treated bulk during filling or assembly.
The synergy between this filling method and Aptar’s packaging solution safeguards Sisley’s minimalist, preservative-free formula against microbial contamination throughout its use—even from finger contact or exposure to ambient air.

The UHT technology is particularly interesting for high added-value products, like Sisley’s Soothing Care,” said Florence Roullet, Global Laboratory & Quality Development Director at Aptar Beauty.
The Sensitive Skin Soothing Care’s 40ml packaging solution is manufactured and decorated in France. A sophisticated decoration was applied, with white coloration and a double pass of silk-screening, in line with Sisley’s brand aesthetics. A glossy silver metal collar adds a statement luxury touch to the product’s visual identity.
Irresistible’s further benefits include consistent dosing of 150mcl, a lockable actuator, and a POM-free cartridge. As part of the product’s ongoing improvements, a switch to a full polyolefin container and a PFAS-free micro filter are currently under development and will be available early 2026.
