The manufacturer of packaging and dispensing solutions for the beauty industry, has achieved the ISTA-6 Amazon certification of its testing laboratory in its Chieti facility in Italy. This certification is part of Aptar’s "local for local" strategy, which aims to produce its packaging solutions as close as possible to its customers.
The ISTA-6 certification, developed by the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA), is a rigorous set of testing protocols designed specifically for e-commerce packaging. It ensures that products are not only compliant but optimized for performance across all distribution channels. This claim guarantees that products withstand the unique challenges of e-commerce shipping, with the objectives of reducing damage, minimizing returns, and enhancing the end-user satisfaction.
The Chieti lab enables comprehensive testing that simulates real-world shipping conditions, following the Amazon ISTA-6 protocols. Its equipment allows Aptar Beauty to validate packaging resistance to transportation and potential damage while eliminating the need for excess packaging or overwrapping. Brands successfully completing these tests can use the e-commerce capable claims for their final products.
“At Aptar Beauty, we understand that packaging is a critical part of the brand experience,” said Luigi Garofalo, Global Category Director Personal Care and Home Care. “This is why we invested in a new state-of-the-art equipment for our testing laboratory and obtained the ISTA-6 certification, recognizing our ability to perform advanced testing that meets the highest standards for e-commerce packaging.”
Aptar Beauty is also an official participant in the Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS) program.
