The manufacturer of fragrances, flavours and cosmetic actives began the year with a bang, being recognized for its achievements five times at In-Cosmetics 2013 in Paris and increasing sales by 6% in the first three months compared to the same period last year.

Several awards

On the occasion of the In-Cosmetics tradeshow, Symrise was recognized at the Innovation Zone competition where SymHair Force 1631, a new hair care product for thicker and more voluminous hair, won a silver award as best ingredient, while Dr. Klaus Stanzl, President Life Essentials at Symrise, was acknowledged for his lifetime achievements as a finalist of the Lifetime Achievements Award.

Furthermore at the BSB Awards competition, which was held alongside In-Cosmetics, Symrise’s SymFit nat 1750 won a first prize in the category “Natural Product - Most Innovative Raw Material” for its skin firming efficacy, while Sym3D and SymBronze 1659 won a second prize each in the “Innovative Raw Materials - Cosmetics Actives” and “Innovative Raw Materials - Cosmetics Functionals” categories respectively.

Sym3D was awarded for its double efficacy for both lip plumping and anti-wrinkle/anti-aging activity, while SymBronze 1659 was honoured as an “an original and innovative” natural self-tanner.

Strong business development in Q1/2013

Eventually, Symrise has published good results for the first quarter of 2013. The group increased sales by 6% (8% at local currency) in the first three months to 458 million euros (433 million in Q1/2012).

Symrise realized its strongest sales increase in Asia/Pacific with 9% growth (12% at local currency). The second largest gains were made in North America, with a sales increase of 8% (9% at local currency). The EAME [1] region made a pleasing recovery, particularly in the Emerging Markets of Eastern Europe, and expanded at a rate of 4% (5% at local currency). Latin America, which grew at an above average rate in the previous quarters, increased its sales by 3 % (10 % at local currency).
