Join an international business and head up an established Hair Care R&D team within a specialist Centre of Excellence. You will shape and execute R&D strategy, drive ingredient and technology innovation, and strengthen the product portfolio, working across regional and global functions to bring meaningful new solutions to customers and support growth in the EMEA personal care market.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and prioritise hair care R&D projects, from new product development to improvements of existing products
- Manage, motivate and develop a team of five researchers
- Lead cross-functional teams developing technologies to address portfolio gaps and evolving market needs
- Build the product pipeline alongside Marketing, Technical Service and commercial colleagues
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Regulatory teams to move new products towards commercialisation
- Analyse competitor portfolios and benchmark hair care technologies to help shape differentiated strategies
- Partner with central R&D teams to develop new chemistries and products
- Support major hair care launches through customer presentations and training
Candidate Requirements :
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Physics or a related scientific or technical discipline
- Extensive relevant experience in technology development, innovation and scientific team leadership within a regulated industry
- Strong hair care background, with expertise in ingredients, formulation and hair care chemistry
- Proven scientific excellence and successful new product launches, plus strong communication, strategic thinking and leadership skills
