This year’s Innovation & Trends (IT) Awards at MakeUp in Paris attracted 114 applications from 62 exhibitors.
The applicants are distributed across the competition’s four categories: Accessories, Formulation & Ingredients, Full Service, and Packaging.
In addition, 23 of the innovations entered in these four categories also competed in the cross-category Ocean Beauty Award due to their use of marine-based ingredients or materials.
After reviewing all the entries, the jury selected 29 finalists.
Among the main trends identified on this occasion: nomadism and practicality of compact formats; skin protection, with increased presence of SPF and claims related to skin barrier function; fun and Gen Z-oriented formulas; exploration of new materials.
