The manufacturer of active cosmetic ingredients produced through plant biotechnology has announced plans to build and fully equip new 1,600 sqm production and logistics facilities in Terrassa, approximately 30 kilometres north of Barcelona.
The investment of approximately 3.5 million euros — financed 50% with own resources and 50% through a long-term bank lease of 15 years — is aimed at responding to the growing international demand for natural active ingredients for cosmetic and personal care products. The construction is scheduled to take place from November 2025 to the end of 2026.
The headquarters, research, development and innovation centre, the central offices and other corporate services will remain at the current facilities on Sant Gaietà Street in Terrassa, located just ten minutes from the new plant. Altogether, the company will have approximately 3,000 square meters of total facilities.
Vytrus expects the new facilities to triple its production capacity. “This reinforcement responds to the company’s continued growth, but also to the need to be industrially prepared to work and meet the standards of large international customers, who demand high industrial capacity from their suppliers and flexibility in terms of production times and volumes,” said the company in a release.
Vytrus sales have grown by 75% to 4.38 million euros in the first half of 2025, according to recently published audited results.
Over the same period, sales increased by 76% in the European Union, 49% in the United States, 154% in Asia-Pacific (led by India) and 48% in LATAM.
Likewise, Vytrus has increased its net profit by 182% compared to June 2024, reaching 1.45 million euros, thanks to the increase in sales, the control of operating costs and the 45% decrease in financial costs.
