Organic SPF 30 and SPF 50 for 99% effective and natural protection
In cosmetics, the sun care category is undoubtedly the most technical and demanding segment. Aware of these challenges and aiming to offer "100% safe" products, the R&D team of Thépenier Pharma & Cosmetics has developed high-performance, eco-friendly formulas.
On the one hand, the natural SPF 30, and SPF 50 formulas both cover the whole spectrum of UVA/UVB and blue light, offer aestheticism and comfort of application (no "whitening effect", with a transparent and non-oily finish), and provide real long-lasting protection (water and perspiration resistance).
On the other hand, the negative impact of standard chemical sunscreens on coral bleaching and marine flora was also at the heart of the subcontractor’s concerns. Thus, both SPF 30 and SPF 50 formulas developed by Thépenier Pharma & Cosmetics have a naturality rate above 98% and are COSMOS organic certified.
Characterized by their mineral formulation free of chemical filters, they have been developed with a view to minimizing their impact:
– On the environment by respecting marine biodiversity, optimizing its biodegradability, and using non-ecotoxic sunscreens, with no impact on coral, phytoplankton, and zooplankton
– On consumer health, by using mineral filters that remain on the surface of the skin, as opposed to chemical filters, identified as allergens and potentially endocrine disruptors.
Silica-free natural toothpaste
Thépenier Pharma & Cosmetics, also known as one of the world’s oral care top-specialists, has brought to life a new "clean, safe & green" toothpaste. The formula of this toothpaste includes no less than 98.9% ingredients of natural origin and has been formulated without silica, titanium, and sulphates.
Thépenier Pharma & Cosmetics has chosen to formulate without silica and titanium, which are present in most standard toothpastes, as they are respectively an abrasive and a colouring agent, capable of containing nanoparticles potentially harmful to health.
On the other hand, the formula does contain fluorine, since the position of the company is that this active ingredient has no known equivalent to prevent cavities formation and is therefore essential for the performance of a toothpaste.
Natural and vegan mascara
With this mascara made from 95.7% ingredients of natural origin, Thépenier Pharma & Cosmetics has combined all its cosmetic know-how to release a hybrid and vegan formula based on fruit extract of Schizandra chinensis and castor oil.
Schisandra chinensis, or five-flavour-berry, is one of the "super-fruits" listed by the traditional Chinese medicine. Thanks to the benefits of its extracts, lashes are toned and revitalized. Castor oil also strengthens eyelashes and boosts their growth.
The associated mascara brush, developed by one of Thépenier Pharma & Cosmetics’ main packaging partners, is composed of organic fibres sourced from Rilsan (castor oil base). It is an amazing alternative to nylon or silicone brushes. The formula itself contains charcoal fibres, which favour the optimization of the pack/formula combination to effectively lengthen the lashes and intensify the look.

Upcycled Range
To meet consumers expectations, who require greater social and environmental responsibility, as well as more transparency from the beauty and health industries, Thépenier Pharma & Cosmetics has just designed a brand-new upcycled range of products designed with a high rate of ingredients of local French origin.
Upcycling processes appear today as the best solution to turn co-products generated by the food industry into safe and qualitative upgraded raw materials for cosmetics.
This environmental-friendly solution is likely to take part in the global endeavours to reduce the carbon footprint of raw materials in the cosmetics industry, which does result in the mixing of new ingredients, but in that of remaining ones, transformed into materials of higher quality and/or utility.
Thépenier Pharma & Cosmetics therefore developed with passion and dedication a new range of four upcycled products, formulated with ingredients derived from food waste recovery:
– A tonic water made from cucumber and tea;
– A face cream made from apple and beech;
– An apple-based body scrub;
– A velvet oil made from apple, mirabelle and fir.
