Only a few months after having received the Bronze Award at in-cosmetics Global, Ecobiotys takes back center stage by winning the Gold Award of the Innovation Zone Best Active Ingredient at the in-cosmetics Asia show, which was held in Bangkok, Thaïland, on October 30-31 and November 01, 2018.
For Silab, this additional prize rewards the achievement of the company in terms of innovation, an aspect at the center of its strategy for almost 35 years.
“Today we welcome this second prize for Ecobiotys with great satisfaction as it embodies a real recognition, showing that our approach to microbiota is unprecedented and innovative. Indeed, as specialists in mastering nature and biotechnologies, we have chosen to take a cross-cutting approach to this theme by using the microbiota of plants, and more specifically that of floral nectar (Nectarobiota), in order to develop an active ingredient able to act on the skin microbiota,” states Brigitte Closs, Deputy Managing Director, Research and Development, Silab.
Obtained from the yeast Metschnikowia reukaufii, isolated from the nectar of the porcelain flower Hoya carnosa, Ecobiotys specifically rebalances the microbiota of mature skin by reinforcing the immune and mechanical barriers of the skin and acting on the distribution of bacterial communities. The quality of the skin barrier is thereby improved and the complexion is enhanced.
Awarded by a panel of worldwide experts from the cosmetic industry, this prize distinguishes the development of a new active principle that combines innovation and substantial benefits for the end-users.
