The Japanese beauty giant has announced the closing of its Hsinchu Factory in Taiwan.
The move is part of Shiseido’s 2030 Medium-Term Strategy announced in November 2025. One of the strategy’s core pillars being to advance the global optimization of its production and logistics footprint.
Following the closure of the plant, Shiseido will relocate its production to factories in Japan, including the Nasu Factory.
According to the group, this decision will enhance global capacity utilization and improve cost efficiency. In parallel, Taiwan Shiseido will concentrate its management resources on its local distribution business, with the aim to achieve a more agile and responsive operating model.
