According to Mega Airless, a supplier of all-plastic airless dispensers, the global trend to packaging premiumization has spread to the sun care market, in segments from mass to prestige. The company therefore had the opportunity to participate in several global launches recently.

In new-generation sun care product launches around the world, companies are building their brand, enhancing formula protection and improving upon yesterday’s squeeze tubes with Mega Airless’ neutral, all-plastic, airless dispensers,” said the company in a release.

Recent examples of Mega Airless-powered sun care launches include: the high-end, spa-oriented Coola Sun Care’s Baby Coola SPF 50, an unscented, organic sun screen for infants, which uses Mega Airless’ Macro Compact 100ml; and Frezyderm’s Sun Screens (Body Foundation and Body Lotion), as well as its sunless Self Tan/Body Shape, available in pharmacies from Europe to the Middle East, which use the Compact 150ml with actuator A45-09, and Slim 50ml with actuator A40-02.

In addition, Mega Airless is the supplier for Apivita’s Sun Screen Face & Body Milk (as well as accompanying product for children), available throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan, which uses the Mezzo 100ml with actuator A30-23; and sun care products from Greece’s Sarantis, which use the Mini 50ml, with actuator A30-23, and Macro Compact 150ml with actuator A40-07.

Our customers find that our innovative airless packs protect viscous SPF formulations and delight end-users with handy 360-degree application, superior evacuation and precise, consistent dosage,” said Eric Desmaris, Business Development Director, Mega Airless. “In addition, our neutral, all-plastic pumps deliver an eco-friendly halo, which resonates with today’s end-users. In terms of ergonomics, aesthetics and functionality, there is really no comparison.

Mega Airless expects this trend to continue, in particular in the context of changing consumers’ habits and preferences and their increasing awareness about the danger of excessive sun exposure. “Combine global market growth with the rise of organic and natural formulations, an aging boomer demographic and demand for superior aesthetics, and you see the potential for our neutral, all-plastic, airless packaging in the sun care market,” explains Harry Blacklock, Mega Airless’ National Sales and Marketing Director.
