With the Catalan site in Torelló for metalworking, and the plastic injection plant in Eastern France, Tesem has established itself as a leading technical partner, offering high value-added packaging solutions for all beauty segments.

Our strength lies in our ability to offer premium products that comply with regulatory and environmental requirements, capitalising on our expertise with metal and plastic, and above all, listening to our customers. We aim to work together to find the technical and economic solutions best suited to their needs, whether it be in prestige or masstige,” explains Albert Sala, the group’s CEO.

Innovation and collaboration

In a very tight market, Tesem advocates strong investments in innovation and research into new technologies. This year, the group created a new cross-disciplinary area focused on innovation to explore new material combinations and devise original, disruptive solutions for the market. At the Torelló site, the Tesem Inno Lab consists of a 1,300-m2 area with its dedicated team for designing and speeding up new projects.

In parallel, the family group plans to rely on an ecosystem of partners to expand its scope.

Tesem has always been strongly committed to collaborations and partnerships. For example, we have been working with Constellium, a European aluminium supplier with whom we have developed low-carbon solutions with a closed-loop recycling system. We will also implement collaborations focused on strategy or enhancements. We believe that, in the current situation, we should look for constructive partnerships,” says Sala.

Investments and proximity to customers

Another key factor in the group’s development strategy is the steady investment policy turned towards industrial tools. Over the past few years, Tesem has modernised its anodising line to reduce water consumption and increase both productivity and quality. In addition, new capacities were opened at the French site, with a plant extension and an innovation centre.

Continuous improvement is key to remain a leading player when it comes to technology, quality, and sustainability,” explains Sala.

Ultimately, by opening a sales office in Paris, the group shows it is willing to get closer to its customers, mainly located in Europe.

We have always focused on being close to our customers. To strengthen our relationships, we opened a sales office in Paris this year. Four people work there right now. This way, we remain as close as possible to our partners, in light of the rather complex situation in Europe,” says the CEO.

Faced with market uncertainties, the Tesem group, which employs about 550 people, highlights its desire to remain a leading partner in Europe.

More than ever, it is key to listen, so we can understand our customers’ needs, but also anticipate the messages sent by the market, and plan our investments accordingly,” concludes Sala.
