Sprecher Berrier Group of Companies (SBGC), the group behind Parfums de Marly and Initio Parfums Privés, has appointed ex-Shiseido and Estée Lauder executive Patrice Béliard as its new CEO, effective October 2025.
Mr. Béliard will succeed Julien Sausset, who is stepping down after more than nine years at the helm of the two houses. Under his leadership, Parfums de Marly and Initio Parfums Privés, which were acquired in 2023 by U.S. investment fund Advent International, have grown as major players in the niche perfume market.
"The time seemed right for me to hand over the reins. I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved, and would like to thank all the teams who have contributed to making Parfums de Marly and Initio two of the most desirable brands in the industry," said Julien Sausset.
Patrice Béliard joins SBGC after more than 25 years of experience in the beauty and luxury sector, both in France and internationally, including within the Shiseido and Estée Lauder groups. He joined The Estée Lauder companies in July 2016 and has overseen a portfolio that includes the fragrance houses Kilian Paris and Frédéric Malle.
The change in leadership follows a year of remarkable growth, as SBGC closed the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, with USD 775 million (EUR 684 million) in sales—up 41%.
"The choice of Patrice marks a decisive step forward. His experience in luxury and niche perfumery is perfectly aligned with our ambition to establish our two Houses as global leaders. I would also like to warmly thank Julien Sausset for nine years of success and commitment, which have enabled Parfums de Marly and Initio to establish themselves on the international stage," commented Julien Sprecher, Executive Chairman of the group, founder, and Artistic Director of Parfums de Marly.
