It is MBF Plastiques that Lancôme entrusted to develop the bottle’s accessories of La vie est belle, its latest fragrance.

In order to meet Lancôme’s requirements – a cap of such quality that it can appear, through its weight and aspect, as if it were made of glass, MBF Plastiques, specialist in plastic injection moulding since 1954, managed to produce a cubic-shaped top made of Surlyn featuring perfectly even faces. Over it, a galvanised chrome-plated zamac plate has been glued using UV technology to add to its weight. This is a particularly delicate operation because no trace of glue or no bubble should be apparent, and all without requiring wiping.

In addition, MBF Plastiques also worked on the bottle closure “click”. A polypropylene (PP) ring was fitted inside the top, ensuring it remains unnoticeable while still securely locking up the heavy bottle. The sound emitted upon its opening met Lancôme’s requirements, and it was swiftly approved. This solution also ensures that the cap maintains its appearance without suffering any alteration caused by its opening.

In charge of all the operations involved for the production of these accessories, the company managed the sourcing and procurement of the various components: the aluminium neck ring manufactured by Graphocolor, the zamac plate supplied by Metapack, and even the small organza ribbon produced by Oriol&Fontanel, a Santex subsidiary.

This creation is evidence of MBF Plastiques’ success in demonstrating its extensive monthly production capacity to manufacture and assemble the various parts, and its ability to meet the delivery delays imposed for the worldwide launch of this new fragrance,” claims the company.
