Manucurist’s story began in 1996 when Fanny, the mother of current General Manager Gaëlle Lebrat-Personnaz, opened the first of the company’s five nail salons. In 2016, she handed the business over to her daughter, who chose to refocus it on developing responsible nail products. That is how the brand’s first successful line was born in 2017: Green™, a collection of vegan nail polish with up to 83% of biosourced ingredients.

In 2020, the Green Flash™ range was a game-changer in the nail market. “It was the first peel-off semi-permanent nail polish with an acetone-free, 12-free formula,” recalls Camille Naud, PR & Influence Manager at Manucurist. Now it is the brand’s iconic offering, embraced by over 600,000 users.

“18 to 24 months ahead”

When it comes to creation, a whole team dedicated to products monitors and deciphers global trends every day. Its mission is to imagine new rituals and innovative shades that meet consumers’ desires.

Last May, the team released Jelly, a line inspired from the craze for Jelly Nails in Korea. “We work 18 to 24 months ahead, just like in fashion”, explains the General Manager.

Consumers increasingly pay attention to what they put on their skins, hair... but also their nails. Manucurist managed to offer them colourful, shiny, contemporary shades without compromising on health. That is where our strength lies”, adds Naud.

Active™, the hybrid skincare and makeup range released in 2024, is also a global success, with one sale every 30 seconds.

5,000 points of sale

Present in over 40 countries, Manucurist boasts a network of almost 5,000 points of sale, including 3,000 in France. The brand is distributed at Sephora’s, at the Galeries Lafayette and Selfridges (UK) department stores, and at Mecca’s (Australia). It is also available in pharmacies, beauty salons and spas. In addition, Manucurist has its own store in central Paris.

Europe, led by France, is Manucurist’s largest market. The brand’s success is driven in particular by consumers’ affinity with the values of Clean Beauty and their preference for products made in France.

On the other hand, the US represents “a much strategic market” for Manucurist. “It is the number one country in the world in the nail beauty industry. So, we are broadening our presence online, in stores, and with nail artists”, emphasizes Naud.

In 2025, retail sales accounted for about 29% of the brand’s revenue, compared to 71% for e-commerce. However, the expansion of its partner network, particularly in the US, is helping to shift this balance. As a consequence, retail should represent 36% of sales in 2026, compared to 64% for e-commerce.

A limited edition and a pop-up store

On September 3rd, Manucurist unveiled a special, limited-edition shade to celebrate its 10th anniversary: Milky Matcha. Available in Green™ and Green Flash™, this tone is inspired from the soft shades of matcha latte. On the same day, the brand launched the Grand Canyon collection made up of three new permanent shades: a brown-toned red, a pearlescent light brown, and a milky peach – the catalogue now offers over 100 shades!

For its anniversary, Manucurist took over the Aura café, in central Paris: the pop-up store opened to the public from September 4th to 6th. The event celebrated a brand on the rise that has remained close to its community for the past 10 years: Manucurist has almost one million followers, only on Instagram. Among others, participants could test the Milky Matcha shade or any other colour of their choice, and also discover Top Coat Xtrem Flash™, the newbie in the Green Flash™ range – a top coat which pushes the boundaries of long wear with a 21-day promise.
