Fred Ghenassia

Premium Beauty News - Fred Ghenassia, you proposed organizers of MakeUp in Paris 2018 to animate an area dedicated to start-ups and revolving around the world of makeup and beauty? Can you tell us more?

Fred Ghenassia - Two years ago I created Open Bay a start-ups incubator. This led me to meet dozens of young companies and notice their difficulties, either to meet key players in their market, or to introduce their products or solutions.

Knowing the MakeUp in Paris trade show and its organizers since its inception, I proposed them to set up an area within the show dedicated to startups. A project they welcomed with enthusiasm. Indeed, this event has always been both the initiator of very original animations and actively in tune and listening to the market.

Premium Beauty News - What will be the special feature of this specific show area?

Fred Ghenassia - First, I would like to recall that I have been working in the cosmetics sphere for twenty years. I have a good knowledge of this market and I know the world of startups in France quite well. My goal is twofold: enable start-ups to meet market players in an appropriate setting and conditions and give visitors the opportunity to discover innovations. The originality of my approach is a support to these companies before, during and after the show. All our team members at Open Bay are dedicated to identifying the most innovative projects, help companies introduce themselves at the show, animate the area during the two days and monitor results.

The MakeUp in Paris trade show, which will take place on 21 and 22 June at the Carrousel du Louvre, paris, France

Premium Beauty News - What animations will be organized at the show?

Fred Ghenassia - With the organizers, we have two highlights planned on Thursday, June 21st and Friday, June 22nd. There will be a conference that will give each company the opportunity to present its concept in a few minutes. The form of these presentations will be original and fun. But be patient, I will tell you more at the kick-off of the show!

Premium Beauty News - What would you be tempted to say to startups managers wishing to test this show area called Start in Make Up Paris?

Fred Ghenassia - This is a unique opportunity to meet, at almost no cost, the people and companies that play a part in the make-up and beauty industry. The challenge for these start-ups managers will then be to clearly explain their concept to them, while our role will be to attract them to this area thanks to the quality of the start-ups we selected.
