Hair color makes women feel better about themselves and gives them self-confidence. When it comes to hair coloring, women’s top priorities are gray coverage as it makes them feel younger, color quality (long-lasting color from roots to ends) and conditioning performance for healthy-looking hair. All these findings were identified by Lubrizol during conversations with women of different ages who dye their hair periodically, either at home or at a salon.

Lubrizol Life Science - Beauty has introduced Chromapol™ ColorPOP polymer to consumers. Its long-lasting color performance provides color protection in permanent, semi-permanent and temporary colors, as well as in shampoos, conditioners and leave-on treatments. This new polymer maintains a true color with vibrant tonality and intensity and at the same time it provides conditioning and smoothness benefits to the hair fiber, thus responding to hair coloring consumer concerns.

In testing for permanent coloration, delta E was better than the benchmark with the Chromapol™ ColorPOP polymer, providing long-lasting color protection for up to 30 washes and for sulfated shampoo up to 20 washes. Color protection in the semi-permanent collection lasts up to 10 washes and when a sulfate-free shampoo is combined with a conditioner, color lasts up to 25 washes.

The multifunctional ingredient maintains a true color with vibrant tonality and intensity. It also provides conditioning benefits to the hair fiber, improving wet and dry feel, while restoring softness and smoothness. It works on all shades of hair, including 100% gray.
