The Switzerland-based manufacturer of active cosmetic and personal care ingredients — specializing in botanicals and phospholipid-based products — has launched a new natural energizing active designed to support scalp health and promote hair follicle longevity at in-cosmetics Global in Paris.

Named Cascara Pro (INCI: Coffea Arabica Fruit Extract), the new active ingredient is extracted from the shell of the arabica coffee bean (Coffea arabica L., Rubiaceae) and enriched with caffeine.

Cascara means ‘skin’ or ‘bark’ in Spanish and refers to the dried pulp of the coffee cherry. Very rich in iron, potassium and antioxidants, it’s highly prized in herbal medicine. The extract is refined and enriched with natural caffeine to create a cosmetic ingredient that powerfully stimulates scalp vitality and follicular activity. The synergy between protective polyphenols and flavonoids and the stimulating effects of caffeine and trigonelline provide proven benefits for follicle longevity and protection, as well as scalp health and vitality.

Sourced and upcycled from organic cascara through a traceable supply chain in Brazil, Lipoid’s Cascara Pro is Cosmos-, Natrue-, and Halal-certified.

"With its natural, upcycled, and traceable origin, Cascara Pro stands out as an on-trend ingredient that provides a potent, feel-good boost for scalp vitality and follicle activity – supporting beautiful, healthy-looking hair throughout life," claimed Lipoid Kosmetik.

Furthermore, Lipoid Kosmetik also introduced Phospholipon 90 H IP, a hydrogenated phospholipid derived from non-GMO soy. Standing out for its excellent skin compatibility and versatility, the new ingredient is particularly well suited for formulations targeting sensitive and stressed skin.
