The partnership forged in 2024 between French cosmetics giant L’Oréal and Swiss biotech company Timeline is set to take shape in a new Lancôme skincare line. The luxury house plans to present what it describes as a major breakthrough in skin longevity next month at the annual American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) convention in Denver, Colorado, from March 27th to 29th, 2026.

Re-energizing mitochondria

Lancôme’s upcoming skincare line will center on a highly purified form of Urolithin A developed by Timeline and named Mitopure. Billed as a mitochondria-targeting postbiotic, Mitopure is designed to stimulate mitophagy — the cellular renewal process that helps recycle and rejuvenate the cell’s energy generators. Its development drew on more than 15 years of research and EUR 50 million in R&D investment.

For this breakthrough innovation, Lancôme paired Mitopure with its own proprietary complexes. The resulting range is designed to target the skin’s visible biological age and, according to the brand, deliver clinically proven longevity benefits.

The new skincare line marks Mitopure’s first deployment at global scale through a major beauty brand.

Our goal is to shift the conversation on aging, using cutting-edge science to restore cellular vitality and offer women a new perspective on their own skin’s trajectory,” said Vania Lacascade, Global Brand President of Lancôme.

A science-based holistic approach

For Lancôme, the partnership with Timeline marks the natural culmination of a long-term strategy to establish itself at the forefront of skin longevity.

It is no longer about masking the signs of time but decoding the fundamental biological mechanisms to preserve and restore skin healthspan,” highlighted the L’Oréal brand.

This latest development builds on Lancôme’s 2025 launch of Absolue Longevity The Soft Cream, formulated with Absolue PDRN, a patent-pending ingredient said to help boost cellular longevity metabolism.

It also complements the Cell BioPrint "lab-on-chip" skin analysis solution, developed through a partnership with the Korean start-up NanoEnTek to determine skin surface biological age through an analyze of its protein biomarkers.

We are defining a new scientific era where beauty is proactive, decoding the core biological mechanisms of skin aging,Lacascade added.

In addition to L’Oréal, Timeline also counts Nestlé Health Science among its investors. To date, the company has filed more than 50 patents worldwide.
