Lablabo introduces a new generation of airless pouch dispensers

On the occasion of the Cosmoprof tradeshow in Bologna, Lablabo, one of the leading producers of airless packaging, presented its new Brio range.

Brio uses the EasyFoil technology developed by Lablabo over the last few years: the bottle contains a cylindrical pouch made of aluminium foil welded onto two rigid components.

According to Lablabo, this confers a triple advantage: in addition to the full barrier properties of aluminium, in particular against oxygen and UV radiation, filling is very easy and can be carried out on any standard machine; furthermore, a particularly high restitution rate (up to 98%) is made possible by the use of new foils.

Indeed, for Brio, Lablabo selected the newest foils, which use no adhesive on the inner portion, because the various layers are co-extruded, i.e. hot-welded onto the aluminium sheet. These thinner foils allow for fuller collapsing of the pouch, thus enabling a higher restitution rate.

Hence, the pouch volume can be selected to the nearest ml without affecting the price, the same applies to the pump’s dispensing dose, which can be adjusted to the customer’s requirements. In this way, Brio makes it possible to dispense any degree of viscosity, from liquids to the thickest pastes.

The pump newly designed by Lablabo to be used with EasyFoil, also contributes to better content protection: it is equipped with a self-sealing actuator, which protects the dose contained within the pump head from any contamination or desiccation during use.

Simplified and lighter, this pump uses 20% less plastics. The pump can be locked by a simple rotation of the actuator. Together with the self-sealing actuator, this feature enables those who like to do without the cap, that many users throw away as soon as the product has been opened, without compromising the integrity of the content. An innovative way to reduce carbon footprint!

The Brio line offers 30, 50 and 100 ml bottles containing a pouch in the desired volume as well as pumps ranging from 0.6 ml to 2.0 ml.

Finally, the price for this new line will be very similar to that of traditional pressure systems: “Throughout the two years it took to develop Brio, we consistently worked with the idea in mind that one shouldn’t have to choose between performance and price. We wanted to prove that one can have it both ways,” said Jean-Philippe Taberlet, CEO of Lablabo.

On center stage, the floral bouquet is making its come back

Just like fashion that is eternally being reinvented, perfumery also works in cycles. And the floral accord is no exception. The very essence of femininity, today floral fragrances are less invasive than in the 1980s, as was the case with Poison by Christian Dior. At the end of the 1990s, floral accords were replaced by clean musky (...)
