Kendo acquires Kat Von D Beauty after founder’s departure

Kat Von D has made a full departure from Kat Von D Beauty to focus on other artistic endeavors (namely, her vegan shoe line and upcoming album). As a consequence, LVMH-owned Kendo Brands has acquired the artist’s shares, thus becoming the sole owner and force behind the beauty line. The brand will now be called KVD Vegan Beauty.

Kendo Brands and Kat Von D have been collaborated together for about 12 years. The company will continue offering its current product lineup, as well as creating new, innovative high-performance, vegan, and cruelty-free makeup for consumers all over the world.

"I want to thank Kat for helping to change the beauty industry with us. The products we created together have stood the test of time and become icons," said David Suliteanu, Kendo’s CEO.

The same Kendo team that made history with the brand is ready to do it again with KVD Vegan Beauty.

"This past year has been one of great change for me. With that said, I’ve decided to step down as founder (and from all other capacities) of Kat Von D Beauty, and sell my shares of the brand, turning it all over to Kendo, my partners for the past 12 years," explained Kat Von D.

On center stage, the floral bouquet is making its come back

Just like fashion that is eternally being reinvented, perfumery also works in cycles. And the floral accord is no exception. The very essence of femininity, today floral fragrances are less invasive than in the 1980s, as was the case with Poison by Christian Dior.
