The Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has postponed the enforcement of the compulsory quality check on imported cosmetics sold in the country. Initially supposed to come into force on April 1, 2011, the measure was rescheduled to October 1, 2011.

According to the Corrigendum G.S.R. 7333(E) of September 29, 2011, the new rules, mandating the testing and registration of imported cosmetic products will come into force on April 1, 2012, six months after the latest deadline.
